2008: Animal Crossing Wii Or We Riot

The release calender for Wii in 2008 is looking about as thin as Nicole Richie after discovering just how deep her pointer finger can go down her throat. Sure, we have Smash Bros, and the alpha-moms and my girlfriend have Wii Fit, but other than that it ain't lookin good for the home team. However, our pal Reggie has mentioned that a little series called Animal Crossing will be bobbing on down to everyone's favorite awkwardly-named game console EVENTUALLY. A lot of people, who have absolutely no real evidence to support their ideas, have claimed to believe that AC will be coming in '08. I put all of my faith in people like that. Animal Crossing, despite being cursed with the kiddiest, sissy-boy name of ANY Nintendo franchise, is one of my favorite games of all time. In fact, my first attempt at online writing was a Gamefaqs guide for the DS version, which in about a year and half has received almost 160,000 hits. There are an obscene number of things that Nintendo could do with the franchise on Wii, especially with online capabilities. Of course they'll probably screw some parts of it up, what with the friend codes thing, but putting some sort of main hub for trading that anyone could access would be brilliant, especially if it worked like ebay auctions. That way if you have a craving for a purple lamp shaped like a gallbladder or something all you'd have to do would be to type in your strange request in a search bar and make some guy from Ohio that sells such lamp's day. Actually, it might be better if it weren't like Ebay, because the above example is NOT that hard to imagine being on the site right this very moment.

But we can all agree, the more customization the better. Designing things with the pattern maker in the old AC games was pretty difficult and time consuming, and although is was pretty rewarding for people that had enough time and so few friends that they could spend 15 hours a day using it, it just wasn't user friendly. The ability to upload images from and SD card and do whatever you want with them would absolutely blow people's minds. Think about it. Download an image of your REAL wallpaper in your house, and then slap it on the walls of your villagers home as well. My frontal lobe just imploded just THINKING about it. That's just one of a million things that could be included to make AC Wii a truly AAA game, so we should all be keeping this one on the radar. And expect full coverage here once info starts to be released on it.
